Patrick Adiba, Executive Vice President, Olympic Games and Major Events at Atos, explains how London 2012 was the most connected Games ever with 8.5 billion devices connected to the Internet. And with fans eager to watch history in the making the growing role of mobile devices played a key role.

The role of Atos in this was to ensure the world’s broadcasters, media, news agencies and websites received the information in a fraction of a second. It did this through its Information Diffusion Systems which feed the Commentator Information System, Info+, myInfo+, the world’s news agencies and the websites.

Atos also introduced an enhanced and extended Remote CIS system enabling commentators to access the same result in their home countries faster than the images hit viewers’ screens.
