In this video Pieter-Jon Buitelaar, Operations Manager for Atos at London 2012, explains how the various technology partners deliver under pressure. Behind the scenes, Atos, in its role as the IT integrator works with LOCOG and leads the other technology partners to meticulously develop, build, test and operate the Games IT, communications, media, sports and technology security systems.
In addition to Worldwide Olympic Partners such as Acer, Samsung, Panasonic and Omega, who – like Atos – have a long-term relationship with the International Olympic Committee, there are also a number of Partners and Suppliers specifically working on the technology for London 2012, including BT and Airwave.
The complexities of the London 2012 project and the manner in which Atos handled this along with the other Partners, Suppliers and Supporter were cited in a recent Gartner case study as a best practice example of integration from which CIOs could draw inspiration in their own roles.
